Community Corrections ProgramThe Differential Substance Abuse Treatment (DSAT) System is designed to accommodate a continuum of corrections offenders, including people on probation who continue to live and work in the community. As a rule, such people are referred to a community-based DSAT Provider Agency in their area. Referrals can be made by Probation Officers, doctors, DHHS case workers, and/or other community-support service providers with the authority to mandate treatment participation as a condition of behavioral compliance. An individual can also self-refer for a screening and assessment of addiction severity and treatment need as related to criminal behaviors such as driving to endanger. Participation in a DSAT Community Corrections Program counts as credit toward completion of DEEP requirement.
