MIHMS Provider Re-enrollment and Training

Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services and MaineCare has embarked on a very significant project for us, for you and for our mutual clients, MaineCare members. We are working to implement a new Medicaid claims processing system.

The first outward phase of this project is a full provider re-enrollment. This is being done to ensure the accuracy of provider data in the new system and to allow use of National Provider Identifiers (NPI). It is important that all MaineCare providers of health care services complete their enumeration and receive their NPI prior to re-enrolling for MIHMS. A wealth of NPI information is available on the MaineCare web site and can found by scrolling to the “NPI Links” header on the MIHMS Project page. Feel free to send questions to MaineCare2010.DHHS@maine.gov.

Provider re-enrollment creates the MIHMS provider file details. This will serve as baseline information that will allow submitted claims to be processed at a later date, when MIHMS is fully implemented.

Which enrollment cycle are you assigned to?

The MaineCare Provider List with Re-enrollment Cycle Assignments Updated 09/18/09 (.xls)will tell you. (Providers are grouped by Tax Identification Numbers)

Based upon MeCMS and the NPI databases, you were assigned to an re-enrollment cycle. However, you may have been assigned to the wrong cycle. (Providers should refer to the MIHMS Provider Re-enrollment Information and Schedule Updated 08/11/09 (.xls) to verify their assignment)

If you believe that you have been assigned to the incorrect re-enrollment cycle, please send an e-mail to MaineCare2010.DHHS@maine.gov.

Please note, being notified to re-enroll does not guarantee you will be approved. All policy requirements must be met for your re-enrollment to be approved.

Re-enrollment Training

Once you know which cycle you are assigned, you can sign up for a MIHMS Re-enrollment Training session. Training is optional, but recommended.
