ICD-10 Status Update

June 4, 2013

The ICD-10 project is progressing through Analysis and Design and will begin the Development phase in the next month. Mapping of currently used codes from ICD-9 to ICD-10 is complete, but we are conducting monthly reviews to determine if any additional codes need to be mapped. The functional translation of these ICD-10 codes to determine operational equivalence is also complete.

We have finished the reviews of Billing Instructions, DLPs, and MyHealthPAS Portal User Guides based upon functional translation. The setup of the IT systems, infrastructure, and environment to test ICD-10 transactions is on track. All waves of ICD-10 codes have been configured in our system. Testing of these codes will begin once the ICD-10 Environment is established. The Integrated Test Plan, including SIT, UAT, and Pilot, is being developed and reviewed, and we expect testing to begin in the first quarter of 2014.

The first ICD-10 Provider Readiness survey was open to all providers from April 5th to May 3rd. Results of this survey were presented at the May PAG/TAG meeting and are published on the webpage. The next survey will be distributed in early July.
