Public Forums – State Innovation Models (SIM) Grant

May 24, 2013

Earlier this year, Maine was awarded the State Innovation Models: Funding for Model Design and Model Testing Assistance grant. We are pleased to have been selected for this funding opportunity to test the Maine Innovation Model and work toward meaningful and impactful reforms in our healthcare system.

Through this grant, we will work with our partners and the healthcare community to align healthcare payment and delivery system reform in the state across MaineCare, Medicare, and commercial payers to improve quality of care and patient satisfaction, while also achieving and sustaining lower costs.

As we move forward with this critical work, public and stakeholder engagement is a priority. Therefore, we have scheduled four regional forums that will present an overview of the grant, specific goals, project timelines, the governance structure, and our next steps moving forward. These forums are open to the public, and we encourage anyone interested in this exciting initiative to attend.

All forums, scheduled from 9:00 AM -12:00 PM, are as follows:

  • June 3rd: Presque Isle, Hampton Inn

  • June 4th: Bangor, Dorothea Dix

  • June 10th: Augusta, Augusta Civic Center (Penobscot Room) – webinar also available on this date

  • June 12th: Portland, Fireside Inn and Suites (Sebago Room) – webinar also available on this date

Webinar options are available on two dates for those who are unable to attend in person. Please register for the forums and/or webinars by May 31st through this registration link, indicating your meeting selection. If you register for a webinar option, the webinar link and conference call information will be sent to you in a separate email.
