COBA Claims rejecting for edit “Homebound Indicator should not be used Outside of Medicare”

July 31, 2012

Some providers have reported that some of their COBA files have rejected for edit “Homebound Indicator should not be used outside of Medicare” on their Business Rejection Report (BRR). This is happening because information in Segment DTP (Date- Acute Manifestation) on their COBA file is required for Medicare, but not MaineCare. We will notify providers once this issue is corrected. Providers will need to re-submit any MaineCare claims that denied for this reason.
