Section 65 May 16, 2012 Proposed Rule Requirements concerning Medical Director and CPT codes

On May 16, 2012, the Department proposed rulemaking for Section 65, which would require Section 65 providers to: (1) employ or contract a Medical Director; and (2) change several HCPC codes to CPT codes.

After considering the comments received on the rulemaking, the Department has decided NOT to adopt the proposed rule.

Accordingly, the changes proposed in the rule concerning Medical Directors and CPT codes will NOT be implemented.

Please disregard the listserve notice “New Mental Health Clinic Medical Director Requirement” that was distributed on June 13, 2012.

In addition, the rule proposed on May 16, 2012 will lapse. Any changes the Department wants to continue will be re-proposed at a later date.

The Department apologies for any confusion this might have caused, and thanks those providers and individuals for comments they made concerning this proposed rulemaking.
