Delay of June 27 Claims Cycle Payment Planned

June 13, 2012

The Department has continued to experience cycle payments that are higher than normal, which has created a shortfall in excess of the budget that was recently passed by the Legislature. We have been monitoring the weekly cycle payments to identify our options to minimize the shortfall; however, anticipated claims payments are still expected to exceed our available funding. Therefore, we have determined that we will cap a portion or all of the last payment cycle. As the end of the fiscal year nears, we will provide more detail on the specifics of the delayed payments.

The Office of the State Controller and the Division of Administrative and Financial Services have worked collaboratively with us to ensure that this impacts providers as minimally as possible. Therefore, we will run a special cycle the first Monday of the new fiscal year, which equates to a three to five business day delay for those payments that did not process.

We understand the impact this may have on you and regret the need to implement this process. Should you have any questions or concerns, please call Provider Services at 1-866-690-5585.
