Patient Account Number Populating in Error on 835 and PDF RAs

For some claims, an internal MIHMS processing number was loaded into the system instead of the provider’s Patient Account Number. As a result, claim transactions on some 835s and PDF Remittance Advices (RAs) beginning in April 2012, are listing the MIHMS internal processing number instead of the Patient Account Number. All other information with the exception of the provider’s Patient Account Number is accurate. If you use the 835 or the paper RA to automatically post to your system, these records will fail to automatically match when using the Patient Account Number. We are working to correct this issue and these 835s will be regenerated. We will notify you once this issue is corrected. In the meantime, providers should contact the EDI Helpdesk at 1-866-690-5585 option 3 with questions.
