Attn: Nursing Facilities

April 25, 2012

To all Nursing Facilities:

On Thursday, May 3, 2012, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, the Case Mix Team in collaboration with Licensing and Regulatory Services, will hold the first quarterly “Minimum Data Set (MDS) 3.0 in Maine Nursing Facilities” forum to discuss topics related to the MDS 3.0 assessments.

This call is not intended for Residential Care Facilities or Adult Family Care Homes.

This will be a web-based telephone conference call. We will record the call to capture the questions and discussion. There can be an unlimited number of people participating at each call-in location, but we can only host up to 90 call-ins. For example, one facility can call using the designated phone number (one call-in) and have 20 or more people participating from that one location phone number.

Please submit questions or topics of discussion through the MDS 3.0 email account, at by April 27, 2012. We can take questions during the call, but we offer no guarantee that these questions can be thoroughly researched to give the best possible response during the one-hour call. By requesting questions ahead of time, we are able to research your question.

To ensure we do not exceed the number of call-ins, please pre-register by contacting Peter Lewis at (207) 287-5882. We will send out the call-in number via email to those of you that register.

Moving forward, we will offer a call-in forum on the first Thursday of every month, from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM, alternating between Nursing Facilities, Residential Care Facilities, and Adult Family Care Homes to discuss MDS issues. The next call-in will be scheduled for June 7, 2012 for Residential Care Facilities. We will send you more information at a later date.
