Incorporating the Newest Version of the Bright Futures Toolkit into your Electronic Health Record
November 17, 2011
MaineCare Services, in partnership with the Maine Center for Disease Control, was awarded a grant from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in 2010 called Improving Health Outcomes for Children (IHOC). One goal of the grant is to update the Bright Futures Forms used by providers to document well child visits in Maine to reflect the most recent American Association of Pediatrics recommendations. Practices serving children will soon be able to access the new Bright Futures Toolkit, including revised Visit forms and Patient/Parent Education forms. We realize these updated recommendations are coming at a time when many practices are updating, developing, or installing electronic health record systems. We have had several inquiries from practices regarding the integration of Bright Futures guidelines into their EHR systems. We support the adoption of Bright Futures into EHR systems and would like to meet with practices who are interested in incorporating the newest version of Bright Futures into their EHR systems.
If you are interested in learning more about the newest version of the Bright Futures Toolkit and incorporating it into your EHR of choice, please e-mail Aimee Campbell-O’Connor or call her at (207) 287-6286.
