Amounts due to MaineCare
July 26, 2011
On Tuesday, July 12, 2011 amounts due to the State for MaineCare-related audits, cost of care, legacy costs, adjustments/voids, and SURS were transferred to the State’s new system MIHMS. The amounts you owe were tracked in the MeCMS system and collections had stopped in February 2011.
We will resume collecting within the next two weeks. First, we will collect all State-identified adjustments and voids in accordance with existing MaineCare agreements and regulations. We will subtract 100% of the amount due from your current MaineCare payment. (Note: Prospective Interim Payments (PIPs) will not be reduced.) The total amount will appear on your MIHMS Remittance Advice (RA) statement along with a reason code.
Collection of the other amounts you owe will start in mid-August 2011. You have received prior notice of amounts due and if you have not made arrangements to repay the State, we will subtract 100% of the amount due from your current MaineCare payment. If you have questions about how much you owe or wish to make other payment arrangements, please contact the Finance Recovery Unit at: 287-6034 or 287-1809.
