Information, Assistance & Outreach ServicesNo matter where you live in Maine, there is an area agency on aging that will help you get the information and help you need to stay independent. You can get help by telephone or visit them in person. If needed, staff or volunteers will visit you in your home. Area Agency on Aging staff can help with many programs such as Food Stamps, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), MaineCare Prescription Drug Benefit, and Tax and Rent Refunds. They also provide health insurance counseling. Each Area Agency has a TTY phone for persons who are deaf and can arrange for interpreters for consumers who do not speak English through the AT&T Language Line. For more information, contact your local Area Agency on Aging at 1-877-353-3771. |
