People in Maine who have Medicare insurance can get free health insurance counseling through the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP). Call the Legal Services for the Elderly Hotline or your local Area Agency on Aging.  Specially trained staff will answer your questions about Medicare, Medicare drug discounts, supplemental insurance, MaineCare, long-term care and other health insurance. 

*NOTE:  The Maine SHIP has information about the new Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage.
