MeCare Def Leppard Patch - Laptop Install

Please read the following instructions completely before proceeding! You may want to print these instructions before proceeding.

Install Patch

You may click on Install Patch as soon as you have completed reading these instructions.
  1. Note: This upgrade will be a two step process.
  2. When you click on Install Release above, you may get a security warning, and you will be asked to confirm that you really want to Open it or Save it to disk.  Select Open it (or Run, depending on your browser)
  3. You will then get a File Download window indicating the progress of the download. At the bottom of the window it will indicate Opened so far with a number followed by KB. This file is 1.74 MB in size - it will take about 8 minutes to download (if you dial up). If you lose your connection, or for some reason don't successfully download the install, in Internet Explorer select Tools/Options and in the General Tab, under "Temporary Internet Files" select Delete Files, (including offline content) and then try to download again.
  4. When the file is successfully downloaded, you will get a window with a yellow exclamation point indicating that a Windows application is attempting to open or install the following software component:

      File Name: DefLeppard_Setup02.exe

It will ask you if you wish to continue. Click Yes

  5. You will then get the installation wizard. Whenever it asks a question, press Next until you have completed the installation (Click on Finish) You will get a Setup was Successful message.
    Click on Close.
  6. If you were successful, you should now have an Icon on your desktop like the one below:
    Patch Icon.
  7. Note: You will not be able to install the patch until after 6:00 on Monday, August 24th, 2009.
  8. When you are actually ready to run the install, be sure that MeCare is not "open". If you have the laptop version, this includes being sure that the black OC4J window is also closed. You can check by looking at the "Start" bar - if you see a "button" like the one below, right click on the one on your start bar and select "Close"
    OC4J
  9. Please be sure that you are not in MeCare and that all windows are shut down prior to installing this upgrade. When you double click on this icon, you will get another set of questions like you did when you first downloaded and ran the upgrade (above). Answer Yes or continue to any questions until the upgrade is complete. You will have to "Reboot" after you have completed the install. If you experience any problems with MeCare after rebooting, please try rebooting one more time before calling for assistance. You should now be able to connect to MeCare.
  10. The icon on your desktop will be removed after you've installed the upgrade.
If you have any questions about this procedure,
feel free to page Rob Cote at 818-6913 with your question.
