Home care: Where to find ItCare and Support for People with Alzheimer’s Disease and Other DementiasMany of the agencies and organizations listed in this booklet serve people who have Alzheimer’s or other dementias. You may want to check with the Maine Alzheimer’s Association for more information about specialized services. The Association is dedicated to providing information, services and support for people with Alzheimer’s Disease, their families, and caregivers. By calling or writing the Association at the toll free number or address below, you can get a directory of services:
Alzheimer’s Respite/Relief for CaregiversIf you are caring for an older person and need some time off from your duties, contact your local Area Agency on Aging (next pages) or the Office of Elder Services at 1-800-262-2232, 287-9200 or TTY 1-800-606-0215 The Adult Day Providers may also be helpful to you. |
