Services funded solely by DHHS Children’s Services through straight state dollars and available as resources permit.

Respite Childcare by trained respite providers, or caregivers chosen by parents. DHHS *Birth to 18
*Documentation of disability consistent with DHHS statute
*Those in foster or residential care, or DHS custody, not eligible
*Eligibility reviewed every 3 years.
Flex Funds Short-term, individualized services for a child and family when no other funding source is available. Ex. Transportation, safety devices, additional respite, assessments, etc. DHHS *Child is receiving DHHS contracted services
*Service must address a need identified in the Individual Service Plan.
Social/Recreation Camp, after school activities, horseback riding, etc DHHS *Documentation of disability consistent with DHHS statute
*Service must be specifically related to the child’s special need.
Conferences/Training Training opportunities for provider staff and parents DHHS
*Some trainings and conferences are jointly funded by DHHS & BMS through contracts with the Muskie Center for Learning.
*Open to anyone via registration/enrollment
*Parents may get stipends/mileages as resources allow.
