Description of Services:

Vocational/Employment Services are provided to people with a wide variety of disabilities and are initially funded by the Department of Labor, Bureau of Rehabilitation Services (Voc Rehab).  Our Certified Employment Specialists and Job Developers coordinate Career Exploration, Job Shadows, Community- Based Situational Assessments, Informational Interviews, Job Placement, Job Coaching and On and Off-Site Job Support.  Long term employment support can be provided to clients with Section 21 and Section 29 funding.

Community Support Services are community-based and geared towards community integration. We offer a variety of community activities including physical fitness, volunteering, visiting local companies and attending community events.  Skill building  in money management, cooking, health & nutrition, etc.   Our Young Adult Program is geared toward clients 18 - 26 years old and Older Adult Program geared towards 27 and older.  Both programs are  Monday through Friday for 4 hours each day. The people we serve have the opportunity to become members of the MVRA All-Stars Special Olympics team and participate in the Special Olympics Summer Games in Orono. Clients who choose future employment as a goal can sign up for our Pre- Voc Program and work with one of our Certified Employment Specialists.  Services are provided by Direct Support Professional and funded by Section 21 and Section 29.

Children Services - Services are provided to children ages 8 and older in their homes and in the community. The focus is primarily on behavior modification and management, self awareness, motivation and physical and social development.  We assist with the transition into adult services.

Personal Support Program consists of in home supports including  independent daily living skills, social skills, integration into the community, money management, household maintenance, and organizational skills.

Residential Services are provided to individuals with developmental disabilities to enhance their lives through direct support in habilitative training and or personal assistance.  The focus is for the individual to maintain a community placement in a small group living.  Funding is provided under Section 21.
