Description of Services:
Lutheran Social Services of New England (www.lssne.org) is part of the broad spectrum of faith-based and secular nonprofit organizations that are increasingly called upon to share the human service responsibilities of society with local, state, and federal governments. We are guided by the belief that by serving the most vulnerable members of our communities, we serve the whole community and create a more positive future for everyone.
With a history in New England dating back to 1870, Lutheran Social Services has quietly become one of the most significant, stable and experienced providers of social services in the this area. Every day the 1,400 employees of LSS help and care for more than 4,000 clients regardless of race, creed, gender or age, in more than 55 social ministry programs throughout New England. We combine personalized compassionate care, with extremely high standards of clinical sophistication and operational excellence to deliver a broad variety of services to children; youth and families; individuals with disabilities; the economically disadvantaged; refugees; and older adults.
LSS Disability Services comprise a wide variety of programs that enable persons who are economically disadvantaged, have disabilities, chronic illness, mental illness, Deafness and other challenges to become and remain successful contributors to the communities in which they live and work. Whether it's safe, reliable, low-cost transportation through LSS Good News Garage, or long term recovery from disaster, our innovative services deliver the right level of support to meet the needs of individuals and communities
Lutheran Social Services of New England is a member of Lutheran Services in America (www.lutheranservices.org), a national network of Lutheran service organizations that together comprise one of the largest charitable organizations in the United States. Last year, LSA affiliated Social Ministry Organizations provided services and support to more than 6 million individuals, or 1 out of every 5 people in the United States.
