About the organization: Established in 1971, Coastal Opportunities is a private, nonprofit corporation governed by a local Board of Directors. The purpose of Coastal Opportunities is to provide services to adults with Developmental disabilities or autism that will offer them the opportunity to contribute to their own welfare, to the welfare of others and to produce in a way which is meaningful to them. The mission of The Coastal Opportunities is to assist adults with developmental disabilities or autism to become participating members in the social and economic community.

Center Based Day Programs: Four distinct day programs in two centers in Camden provide community inclusion, peer interactions, volunteer opportunities and physical fitness.

Six Group Living Residences: One PNMI Group Home serving six individuals in Thomaston. Four Waiver Group Homes located in Owls Head, Rockland and Rockport serving two to four individuals. One ICF-MR Group Home serving six individuals in Hope.

Crisis/Respite Home: The George Robishaw Home provides crisis or respite housing for four individuals.

Supported Living Program: Provides services to persons living in their own apartments to promote independence and growth. Additionally, Coastal Opportunities manages five independent living apartments in two locations in Camden.

Employment Services: Provides job development, job coaching and long-term supports.

Adult Community Case Management: Provides community case management services to adults in the Knox, Waldo and Lincoln county areas.
