Grievance Process Guide for Recipients of Mental Health ServicesBurden of ProofThe agency or inpatient facility against which a grievance
is filed has the burden of proof. That means that the agency
or inpatient facility has to prove that you are wrong. You don’t
have to prove that you are right. When you are preparing or
appealing a grievance, you have the right to copies of any information
and documentation the agency or inpatient facility used to respond
to your grievance. Review this information carefully to see
whether it supports the response you received. |
