Maine Cancer Plan
In 2001, the Maine Comprehensive Cancer Control Program, in partnership with the Maine
Cancer Consortium
, released the first comprehensive cancer control plan, which identified goals, objectives, and strategies in:
- Cancer prevention
- Detection
- Treatment
- Rehabilitation
- Survivorship
- Palliative and end-of-life care.
This five-year plan is a roadmap designed to make a significant impact on the burden of cancer in Maine. A second edition of the Cancer Plan was released in the summer of 2006. This is the current guiding document for cancer control in Maine.
