Downeast - District 7 Public Health Unit

Overview

The Downeast Public Health Unit will center out of Machias and includes the following staff:

• 1 District Liaison (located in Machias)
• 1 Infectious Disease Epidemiologist (located in Bangor);
• 5 Public Health Nurses (one in Machias, two in Calais, one in Ellsworth, one in Bangor);
• 2 Eating & Lodging Inspectors (located in Bangor and Augusta),
• 3 Field Drinking Water Inspector (located in Bangor and Augusta).

The Unit office is located at the DHHS Office at 13 Prescott Drive in Machias.

Two Public Health Nurses serving Sagadahoc County are based out of a DHHS office in Lewiston.

Two of the Inspectors have office in Augusta.
