Maine Local Health Officers

Welcome to your website! There are more than 500 municipal health officers in Maine. To facilitate your success, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC) has developed, and assembled the relevant documents to guide Local Health Officers (LHO) in the art of solving health and environmental challenges or issues in their communities and to perform LHO duties as effectively as possible, using means that are most appropriate to the circumstances. 

As the town's Local Health Officer, it is important that we have your correct or updated contact information in our database. This information will allow us to send you updates on the law, new methods for dealing with certain problems, and to improve communication among you, the Maine CDC and your District Liaisons.
