MAINE MONTHLY RADON REPORT DATA STRUCTURES
Maine accepts monthly reports submitted on paper reports, or through electronic media. If reports are being submitted electronically, Registered Radon Service Providers have two options. Option 1 is to submit a copy of the paper report via email or on disk. Option 2 is to submit the report in a delimited file, which allows for easier addition to our data files. Option 2 is preferred, but not required at this time.
It is expected that any Registered Radon Service Provider who keeps their records of services provided to Maine consumers in a database or spreadsheet is capable of submitting their reports in a delimited file. It should be just as easy, or easier, for them to do this as to submit an electronic version of the paper report.
To assist Registered Radon Service Providers in submitting reports in a delimited format, the structure of our databases are provided below. We are currently operating in dBase III+, and will be converting to Microsoft Access in the very near future. Both of these database packages have the capability to accept all manner of properly set up delimited files we are familiar with, as well as accepting dBase, text, and Excel files.
The most common problem found with delimited files that were submitted in the past, is that the Registered Radon Service Provider either skipped fields, or set the fields up with incorrect field width or type Now, without further ado, here are the database structures!
