Direct Service Worker Training Core Curriculum

How will new core curriculum work?

As you can see in the diagram below, the curriculum begins with a common set of core topics that provide the basic direct care competencies needed to work in any of the three job titles.  This will be followed by shorter, specialized modules for workers who wish to be certified as a PSS, DSP or MHRT I.   The advantage to this system: If a worker wishes to change their career path to work with other populations, such as moving from a PSS to an MHRT I, they will not have to repeat the core training. This reduces costs for everyone.
