Contacts and Info

  • 24-hour emergency phone number for the Drinking Water Program is (207) 557-4214.
  • If you have drinking water concerns, please call the Drinking Water Program with your concerns and questions. They can be reached at (207) 287-2070 during business hours. For after-hour emergencies, call (207) 557-4214.
  • Note for school administrators: If flooding has occurred at a school, please determine if flood waters have impacted the drinking water system. Please keep the Drinking Water Program informed of flooded wells and water treatment facilities. If a well goes under water, please assume the well to be contaminated. Shut the well down (if possible) and/or put in place a "boil water" order until the well is disinfected and the water is tested apprporiately. If a water line washes-out, a "boil water" order is requred if the water pressure drops to zero or negative pressure.
