District 4 - Midcoast District Overview

District Characteristics
  • 151,882 people (est. 2006). 84.1 people per square mile (est. 2006)
  • 4 county governments: Waldo, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc Counties
  • 73 municipalities (incorporated local governments): cities, towns, plantations (A few unincorporated townships are a recognized part of the District. A TWP is officially served by the Maine CDC and may be served by the local health officer of an adjacent town.)
  • Some towns or villages are ocean island communities.

Knox County Community Health Coalition, Rockland (Penobscot Bay YMCA)

Healthy Waldo County,Belfast Lead/fiscal: Waldo County General Hospital)

The Bath/Brunswick HMP (Midcoast District) has a MOU with City of Portland HMP to deliver designated services to Brunswick (Cumberland District) based on its history of service delivery.
