Healthy Maine Partnerships

First Look

I'm very pleased to announce two important data links on our homepage ( www.mainepublichealth.gov ).

The first is the link to the eight District Health Profiles. Chris Lyman, Katie Meyer, Elaine Lovejoy, Robert Burman, and many other Maine CDC staff worked hard this fall to pull together a health profile snapshot of each of our eight Health and Human Services Districts. Each one can be downloaded and printed, either in black and white or in color. Although we printed a few draft copies of these to distribute at the Health District Forums in October, we do not have the funds for further printing at this time.

The second link is to a page listing a variety of web pages with state and sub-state health data. We want to keep this page updated, so if you know of additional appropriate websites to list, feel free to contact me. Thank you and have fun using these data to help make Maine the healthiest state in the nation!

Who are the Healthy Maine Partnerships?

We're your friends and neighbors working together at the State and local level to make Maine a healthier place to live and work. We do this by working together to reduce tobacco use and tobacco-related chronic disease, focusing on changing policies and environments to be more supportive of decreased tobacco use, increased physical activity, healthy eating, and chronic-disease prevention.

The 28 Healthy Maine Partnerships work closely with the State partners listed below:

  • Partnership For A Tobacco-Free Maine
  • Maine Cardiovascular Health Program
  • Community Health Promotion Program
  • Coordinated School Health Program
  • Physical Activity & Nutrition Program

The State agencies and 28 Partnerships also work with the following voluntary nonprofit statewide organizations:

  • American Cancer Society of Maine
  • American Heart Association of Maine
  • American Lung Association of Maine
  • Maine Center for Public Health
  • Medical Care Development
