The Bangor and Portland Metabolism Clinic:

 
  • Available monthly in Bangor and Portland
  • Provides evaluation and treatment planning
  • Provides information to preschools, daycares, Child Development Services (CDS), public schools, etc.

Early evaluation by the clinic team will ensure early treatment planning.

   

The clinic team will talk with you, examine your child, and review the following:

 
  • Medical and family histories
  • Overall health and physical development
  • Nutritional needs
  • Educational needs
  • Feeding strategies
  • Genetic counseling
  • Laboratory follow-up

Clinic team members are health professionals with expertise in the care of children with inborn errors of metabolism.

Maine law requires insurance coverage for metabolic formula and modified low-protein foods.
