- 24 mini-grants in the amount of $500 each to interested elementary schools for skin cancer prevention efforts.
- Development of a sun safety kit to all Maine high schools, which includes a youth-created sun safety video.
- Inclusion of a youth sun safety question on the Youth Risk Behavior Survey.
- Professional education on skin and colon cancer detection
- Conducting a statewide, multi-year social marketing campaign to increase awareness and screening of colon cancer among Maine adults, age 50 and older.
- Increase the number of Maine hospitals with American College of Surgeon Commission on Cancer Accreditation.
- Increasing the awareness among healthcare providers for cancer genetic counseling and screening.
- Conducting a statewide survey of cancer patients to assess their rehabilitation/survivorship needs.
- Assessing quality of life at the end of life at Maine's Veterans's Homes and nursing homes.
- Conducting participatory evaluation of the Maine Comprehensive Cancer Control Program, the Maine Cancer Consortium, and implementation of the Maine Cancer Plan.
