Simulation Name: Running a Report
Simulation Mode: Teach me

Scenario: Reports in EIS are used to take data in the system and put it in a meaningful output. There are many different reports to run in EIS and your security access will determine what reports are available for you to run. In this lesson you will be taught how to run a report in EIS.

Screen Name: #1: People Demographics - Microsoft Internet Explorer

Step: Click REPORTS in the EIS Menu "Hot Area" REPORTS in the EIS Menu
User Prompt: From any screen in EIS, click REPORTS in the EIS Menu to access the available reports.
Screen Name: #2: Reports List - Microsoft Internet Explorer

Step: Click underlined report NAME "Hot Area" underlined report NAME
User Prompt: The first thing to do is to select the FORMAT for your report. The default is HTML. HTML report formats tend to compile faster and then the information in them can be copied and pasted into other programs (like Microsoft Word). PDF (ACROBAT) reports take longer to compile, but tend to look nicer when printed. Let's keep the HTML format. Click the underlined report name to run the report (for example, the second report in the list).
Screen Name: #3: https://bdsnet.dbds.state.me.us:7002 - Report Parameters - Microsoft Internet Explorer

Step 1: Select REGION 2 from the [combo box name] drop-down list.
Step 2: Click NEXT button "Hot Area" NEXT button
User Prompt: Many reports have parameters (things you need to choose for your report). In this example, we want to run the report just for Region 2, so we are going to select "REGION 2" from the REGION drop-down box and then click the NEXT button.
Screen Name: #4: https://bdsnet.dbds.state.me.us:7002/eis/ControlServlet - Microsoft Internet Explorer

Step: Click CLOSE button "Hot Area" CLOSE button
User Prompt: Now we can see the report. From here we can either print it or just view it and exit. For this example, let's just exit by clicking the red CLOSE button in the top right corner.
Screen Name: #5: Reports List - Microsoft Internet Explorer

Summary: You have now been taught how to run a report in EIS.
