KidsPeace New England has five locations throughout the state of Maine: South Portland, York, Lewiston, Augusta, and Orono. Our Community Services Supported Families Program offers highly skilled in-home staff for the management, supervision, and counseling of the child and family. Our Foster Care and Family Services are offered to children who require out-of home placement and who are capable of functioning in a family setting.

Job Description:
The Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) provides in-home support services to clients and their families in the KidsPeace New England (KPNE) Supported Families Program. Upon occasion, the BHP may also be assigned to provide supervised visitation in the Family Visitation Program or support to a therapeutic foster child in the Foster Care Program. The BHP provides informal counseling, behavior management, and crisis stabilization services as well as client supervision, supervision of client visitations, observation and assessment. In addition, the BHP may implement other services indicated on the client's Individualized Service Plan, including advocacy and/or support for the client/family in contacts with schools, other agencies or service providers. The position requires attendance at supervision and training, maintenance of paperwork, and on-call responsibilities
Minimum Requirements:

- Fourth year university student majoring in a related field acceptable
- At least two years' experience providing services to children and/or families preferred.

- Education may be substituted for experience.

Family Visitation Supervisor

Job Description:
A family visit supervisor provides supervision of family visits in the Family Visitation Program. During visits, the visit supervisor observes, assesses, educates, and completes documentation. The position requires an unwavering commitment to safety, supervision, communication, and to ensuring that the visit guidelines are followed. The visit supervisor is responsible for communicating with the agency supervisor, DHS when required, and for following all KidsPeace policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Six months of experience with children and/or families preferred
Typical Duties:
- Ensure a safe and secure environment. Act immediately to remove all dangers or threats to the welfare of kids and families. Use good judgment and clear communication when a safety intervention is required. Inform all appropriate parties in a timely manner.
- Provide the level of supervision to families and children according to the guidelines set forth by the referring party and KidsPeace.
- Crisis Intervention. Use good judgment and excellent communication skills to ward off impending crises. Properly manage crisis situations. Intervene effectively when the guidelines for the visit are not being followed.
- Document all visits in a timely fashion according to program standards. Attend to all agency paperwork requirements.
- Transportation of clients as required, according to KP policies and Maine State laws.
- Communicate all relevant client information to appropriate parties on a timely basis. Communicate effectively with collateral contacts, in case meetings, at court proceedings, and in supervision. Modeling appropriate parenting and communication skills in all interactions with children. Teaching appropriate methods of discipline, proper boundaries, and treatment strategies appropriate for the client and client family.

Job Description:
The Clinician is responsible for overseeing and providing treatment for a caseload of clients being served by KidsPeace Foster Care and Family Services Program. This person leads treatment teams in the design, implementation, and documentation of individualized programming within the framework of these programs. The Clinician is responsible for direct service delivery (program specific), and/or the oversight of assigned cases, clinical and/or administrative supervision of the KidsPeace members of the treatment team (as assigned), and chairing the intake, review and discharge meetings. An average of 24 billable hours per week shall be provided by the Clinician to the children and families receiving outpatient, children’s behavioral health, or other services billed in hourly units. In addition to these clinical and case management responsibilities, the position may also involve assisting the Site Manager and Administrators of KidsPeace New England with responsibilities (as assigned) including, but not limited to, hiring, training and orienting new staff, program design and development, participation in quality assurance and organizational performance improvement processes, and the maintenance of relationships with funding, regulatory and licensing entities
Minimum Requirements:
Masters degree: counseling, social work, psychology, or other Hum. Serv. related field
- Licensed mental health practioner (LCPC, LCPC Cond., LCSW, LMSW-cc, Advanced practice RN-psychiatric, mental health nurse practioner, or Licensed Psychologist)
- 2 yrs. exp. in home-based clinical services or treatment foster care services, crisis intervention services, other mental health programming serving young people with special behavioral needs or other cognitive/emotional disabilities
Typical Duties:
- Providing direct service & oversight to a caseload of children & families in specialized foster homes & intensive home-based family support program
