Senior Community Service
Employment Program

The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is a federally funded training program for older people. Participants in SCSEP are paid for 20 hours of training per week in a non-profit agency and receive on-the-job experience. One goal of the SCSEP is to help participants find employment outside of SCSEP so that more people can participate in the program.

If you are at least 55 years old and have a low income, you may be eligible to participate in the SCSEP. Participants in the BEAS’ SCSEP are trained and supervised by non-profit agencies that sign a contract with the BEAS. Please contact the BEAS or one of the BEAS’ contractors below for more information. SCSEP wages are not counted if you apply for Food Stamps, subsidized housing, or Home Energy Assistance (HEAP).
