The Family Caregiver Program of Maine was established in 2001 with funding from the Administration on Aging through a grant to the Bureau of Elder and Adult Services. A guide for family caregivers has been developed and is available at the five area agencies on aging in Maine. The guide includes information about resources in Maine regarding Alzheimer's and other dementias, home care, assisted living and nursing facility care, end of life care, resources for grandparents, legal issues and long-term care as well as other services about which people caring for older persons might want to know. |
