Learning Opportunities

Grand Rounds

The Multidisciplinary Psychiatric Grand Rounds is a collaborative effort between DDPC, Acadia Hospital, EMMC, CHCS and the University of Maine. Weekly educational sessions, loosely following the school year, focus on improving and advocating for mental health care in our community to ensure care of the highest quality. These sessions may be viewed live at the host site (which rotates annually) or via video-conferencing. Grand Rounds schedule.

Lunch and Learns

A mini educational opportunities, generally focusing on psychiatric medications and their implications, held at DDPC during the lunch hour.

JCSN (Joint Commission Satellite Network)

A televised in-service provided by The Joint Commission (the former Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Hospitals) discussing topics identified by TJC as critical to the improvement of patient care. These live sessions air once monthly on a set schedule.

ITV-Interactive Television

A service available where the employee may attend leisure or post-secondary education classes right on DDPC campus, with the ability to ‘interact’ live with the instructor.
