Bill Carver, Chairman, Union
Bill was appointed by the Governors office in October, 2008 replacing Larry Winchester as the Underground Storage Tank Installer Representative. Bill was elected chairman at the Board's January, 2009 meeting, replacing Alison Smith. Bill is owner of Bill's Pump and Tank Service in Union where he also lives on a small farm with his wife Brenda and a few dogs and horses.
Dylan Birt, Lewiston
Dylan was appointed by the Governors office in August, 2011 replacing Aaron Thorndike as the Underground Storage Tank Inspector Representative. Dylan currently works for Petroleum Maintenance Systems, Inc. in Auburn. Dylan completed his underground tank apprentice requirements and is now a certified underground storage tank installer. Dylan enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, skiing and listening to music.
Thomas Doe, Winterport
Tom was appointed by the Governors office in June, 2009 replacing Ken Dixon as the Maine Fire Chiefs Association Representative. Tom is the Fire Chief in Winterport where he and his wife Marilyn make their home. Tom retired from the Maine Department of Transportation in 2007 after nearly 38 years of service. His last project was the Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory.
George Seel, Belgrade
George was appointed by the Governors office in February, 2000 as the representative of the Department of Environmental Protection. George enjoys fishing, hunting and kayaking.
Elwin (Scottie) Scott, Lewiston
Scottie was appointed by the Governors office in October, 2008 replacing Paul Bosse as the representative for the Maine Oil Dealers Association, now Maine Energy Marketers Association (MEMA). Scottie is president/owner of Simard and Sons, Inc. in Lewiston. Scottie enjoys spending time with his family, time at his camp, and hunting.
Alison Smith, Portland
Alison was appointed by the Governors office in October, 2001 representing the public. Alison's two (2) consecutive terms ended on December 31, 2008 and she continues to serve until a replacement is found. Alison enjoys swimming, reading, gardening and vermin-composting.
