An Environmental Law Lunch and Learn Session presented by DEP in Partnership with the MSBA Environmental and Energy Law Section Peter Carney and Laura Welles will describe current DEP enforcement policies and procedures and present a summary of significant recent enforcement actions. The session will give practitioners a basic understanding of the DEP enforcement process and what to expect when they are representing a client in such matters. Pete Carney and Laura Welles are enforcement attorneys in the DEP?s Office of the Commissioner and are responsible for supporting DEP enforcement activities and representing the Department in District Court enforcement actions. (60 minutes)
This session will be presented in the Augusta location, simulcast to locations in Portland and Bangor. DEP staff attorneys will also be present at each location to facilitate discussions.
