Dry Cleaning

Dry cleaning uses chemical solvents to clean clothes without saturating the cloth fibers in water. Waste generated from dry cleaning facilities tends to be hazardous because of the nature of the solvents used, and disposing of spent solvents is costly. One of the newest dry cleaning technologies utilizes carbon dioxide as a cleaning agent. These links provide guidelines for reducing wastes and emissions, recycling opportunities, and alternative cleaning technologies.
