Gutters -- Clean out leaf debris and standing water. If your gutter has standing water it is not draining properly and may cause other problems such as ice back up in the winter. If you can restore proper drainage it will help with several things.

Junk -- Eliminate junk that can hold water.

Pools -- Swimming pools -- aerate and chlorinate according to directions and cover if possible.
For wading pools, change water frequently, empty when not in use, and store inside or cover.

Miscellaneous containers -- Recycle containers, store inside, drill holes or cover tightly.

Tarps -- Use to cover other items that may collect water, but make sure the tarp is stretched tightly or there will be depressions in the tarp that will collect water.

Tires -- Remove to your transfer station, store inside or cover with a tightly stretched tarp. Drill a hole in a tire swing to allow water to drain. When tires are used around the property to hold down tarps or for other purposes, make sure they can drain.
