Tax Exemption

Title 36, Maine Revised Statutes §§ 655, 656, and 1760 provide for tax exemptions for certain air and water pollution control equipment certified by the Board of Environmental Protection. The exemptions are for sales and use tax, and/or property tax. The Bureau of Land and Water Quality processes applications for certification of water pollution control equipment and the Bureau of Air Quality Control processes applications relating to air pollution control equipment.
