- Maine Multisector permit issued: October 11, 2005 (replaces Federal Multi-Sector permit which expired on October 30, 2005).
- Date by which a person with a regulated industrial stormwater discharge should have filed with Maine DEP for coverage under the Maine Multi-Sector General Permit: November 14, 2005 (sites with unauthorized stormwater discharges should still file for permit coverage as soon as possible).

Public Works Garages. EPA has determined that stormwater discharges from public works garages do not fall within the definition of stormwater associated with an industrial facility under EPA's stormwater regulations. EPA is considering the possibility of designating stormwater discharges from this category of facilities as a significant contributor of pollutants to waters of the United States. This means that an operator of a public works garage is not required to file an NOI or develop a stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) pursuant to the federal Multisector General Permit unless and until EPA makes such a designation. Before making this designation, EPA would consult with Maine and provide public notice and an opportunity to comment on the designation.
