Guidelines for Completing the Boat Pump-Out Grant Application
And Supplemental Material Requirements

  1. Please fill out the application completely and legibly.
  2. Please include a map, identifying the location of the facility.
  3. Please include a simple site plan, showing:
    1. The facility including piers, docks, and/or floats, and minimum depth of water
    2. The proposed location of the pump-out station (if stationary),
    3. The location of any holding tank or sewer connection
  1. Please include a copy of the estimate/invoice from your vendor of choice, and estimates on installation and any other construction costs. Calculate 75% (90% for municipalities) of the total cost and include this value on line 10 of the application.
  2. If you are applying for operation and maintenance cost, please provide estimate of disposal fees, sewer fees, and personnel costs (including per hour rate and % of their time). Please note, grant money for operations and maintenance is distributed as a reimbursement at the end of the operating year. Calculate 75% (90% for municipalities) of the total cost and include this value on line 10 of the application.
  3. Please include a list of other services available at your facility (fuel, ice, supplies, electricity, # of moorings, slip space, laundry, showers etc.).
  4. If you are proposing any construction (soil disturbance, sewer connection, holding tank, laying permanent pipe) within 100 feet of the shoreline, please review the supplemental guidance on the Natural Resource Protection Act, town ordinances, and plumbing permits and include copies of those permits if applicable.
  5. If you have never done business with the State before, please fill out the "Vendor Update" form and submit with your completed application. Doing so will expedite your payment.
