On April 28, Patti Mendelson of PW Sugg Middle School in Lisbon Falls wrote: "More than one student reported seeing beaver activity in our area. Snake and turtle sitings are also being reported."

On April 21, Joanne Alex of Stillwater Montessori School in Old Town wrote: "It was an evening observation. Next day (04/21/04) a small chorus was heard during the late morning hours. Same location on the farm road in Old Town."

On April 20, Patti Mendelson of PW Sugg Middle School in Lisbon Falls wrote: "Eagles, Ospreys, Red-winged blackbirds also observed."

On April 15, Audrey Jones of Young and Fairfield Schools in Saco wrote: "We have a few flowers budding, mostly daffodils. Our school's grass is getting green, The Saco River is flooding from all the rain. Peepers are getting louder every night."

On April 8, Joanne Alex of Stillwater Montessori School in Old Town wrote: "Saw Coltsfoot flowers in bloom. Children noted seeing robins more and one saw a flock. The dandelion was a full bud waiting for the sun."

On March 31, Patti Mendelson of PW Sugg Middle School in Lisbon Falls wrote: "Some students report hearing mourning doves every day. Another student reported seeing several bats around his home. A northern mockingbird was also spotted."

On March 26, Claudette Albert of Mt Jefferson Junior High in Lee wrote: "First night that all temperatures in the state were above freezing. It is muddy and rainy."

On March 17, Vaughn Martin of Easton Middle School in Easton wrote: "We sighted some robins last week. It was in the 40's. This week it is snowing and cold. We haven't seen any since.
