This shrub is commonly planted in peoples' yards. It grows to a height of 10 feet and has a fountain-like growth habit if not pruned. |
Leaves: |
Oppositely arranged, with partially serrated margins. |
Flowers: |
Yellow, with four petals. About an inch across. A harbinger of spring. |
Helpful Tips: |
This shrub does not grow in the wild in Maine. It is a hybrid between two plants that are native to Eastern Asia. |
