Air Quality Forecast
Air Quality Data |
QA Analyzed DataThe data presented in files below is available for viewing or downloads and has been quality assured (QA'd). Ozone data is the maximum 8-hour average for the day at each site. Particle pollution data is the midnight to midnight 24-hour average for each day. Continuous particle pollution data must be adjusted to the federal reference method (FRM) monitoring data. The particle pollution data presented below is QA'd FRM-like 24-hour averages. The adjustment factor is revised periodically. When the adjustment factor has been revised these files will be replaced with QA'd particle pollution data using the most current adjustment factor. If you are using this data for research or other analyses it is advisable that you download all the pertinent particle pollution data at the same time to ensure that you are not trying to compare apples to oranges. IMPORTANT NOTE: A new National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) for Particle Pollution became effective on December 16, 2006. However, the Air Quality Index (AQI) will not be revised for months. Therefore, the color coding of particle data on these web pages may not reflect the correct AQI category. Under the new NAAQS for particle pollution a 24-hour average of greater than 35 micrograms per cubic meter is an exceedance. The current AQI breakpoint for the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range is a 24-hour average of greater than 40 micrograms per cubic meter . Forecasts will be issued based on the new NAAQS but data will be displayed based on the current AQI. Until the AQI is revised, AQI levels of 90 or higher exceed the new NAAQS.
