Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) Public Hearing Information

The Board of Environmental Protection held a public hearing on September 6, 2007 to hear testimony on the proposed Chapter 156: CO2 Budget Trading Program and Chapter 157: CO2 Budget Trading Program Waiver and Suspension. Chapter 156 CO2 Budget Trading Program which establishes the Maine component of the CO2 Budget Trading Program, which is designed to stabilize and then reduce anthropogenic emissions of CO2, a greenhouse gas, from CO2 budget trading sources in an economically efficient manner. Chapter 157: CO2 Budget Trading Program Waiver and Suspension this regulation finds the Commissioner the authority, exceptional circumstances, to waive or suspend requirements of the CO2 Budget Trading Program, 06-096 CMR Chapter 156.
