To all subscribers:

We learned yesterday that the domain - the portion of the e-mail address after the "@" symbol - has changed for list servers operated by Maine State Government. This change effects the Air-Inventory listserve to which you are subscribed.

The new domain for Maine State Government list servers is "@lists.maine.gov", replacing "@informe.org". YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESUBSCRIBE TO THE AIR-INVENTORY LIST, however, please note these
changes:

(1) To send a question or comment to the list, you must now use air-inventory@lists.maine.gov.

(2) To subscribe or unsubscribe to this list, you should send action messages to air-inventory-request@lists.maine.gov.

(3) To reach the list owner (Tammy Gould), you should send e-mail messages to owner-air-inventory@lists.maine.gov.

We will be updating the List Server webpage, http://www.maine.gov/dep/air/emissions/listserver.htm by the end of the week.

Thank you for your understanding.

Tammy Gould, Maine DEP

Subject: air-inventory MAIRIS Contract Finalized

The Bureau of Air Quality is pleased to announce that Perrin Quarles Associates, Inc. of Charlottesville, Virginia was selected from nine bidders who submitted proposals to design and implement the Maine Air Inventory Reporting System (MAIRIS), a new web-based, emissions inventory collection software program. MAIRIS will replace the current software, i-STEPS, and provide us with a consolidated inventory collection package, robust quality assurance feedback tools, and the capability to export XML-formatted data that meets EPA's new data standards. Perrin Quarles Associates (PQA) was the unanimous selection of the DEP and OIT-staffed proposal review team. PQA is an interdisciplinary environmental consulting firm that specializes in information system development for federal and state agencies, with a major focus on air quality and climate change. PQA is currently leading the National Emissions Inventory Reengineering and National Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory projects for U.S. EPA and developing The Climate Registry software for the new, voluntary North American greenhouse gas registry. Maine is in a unique position to leverage PQA's work from other projects for the benefit of MAIRIS and the reporting facilities in Maine. After several months of negotiations, the contract was finally executed this week and PQA staff will soon be coming to Maine to meet with the MAIRIS Project Team in person. The contract, at $419,992.34, is being funded from an FY06 Exchange Network Grant from U.S. EPA.

Project updates will be posted periodically to the AIR-Inventory listserve. If you have any questions, please contact the Project Manager, Tammy Gould, at (207)287-7036 or via e-mail at tammy.gould@maine.gov.
