Conservation Technology Support Program (CTSP)

Conservation and environmental non-profit organizations seeking to use  computer mapping technology can apply  for Conservation Technology  Support Program (CTSP) grants of computers, software and   training. Approximately 50 grant packages are available, using  computers   and printers donated by Hewlett Packard Company, and Geographic  Information   Systems (GIS) software by Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc.   (ESRI) and Clark Labs. Other vendors may also provide equipment and  software.    Land trusts, watershed organizations, groups working to save plant and   animal habitats, environmental justice and urban open space groups,  Indian   Tribes, sustainable development groups, and many other types of groups  are   all of interest to CTSP.

Interested groups should obtain application guidelines at   http://www.ctsp.org. To be considered, an organization must  be U.S.-based and have 501c3 tax exempt status (no others allowed), however  Indian Tribes are also eligible. International groups with U.S. 501c3  sponsors may be eligible and should refer to the CTSP guidelines on the   web  site.    For 2002 grants, check on or after Oct. 1, 2001.

Nutrient management loans (FAME)

Nutrient Management Loans are now available through FAME. These loans have an effective interest rate of 4% the first year and 3% each year thereafter for up to 20 years. The loans may be used for building storage and handling facilities for manure and milk room wastes, including equipment that is used solely for this purpose. EPA Targeted Watersheds Grant Program

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection is sending this Invitation for Pre-Proposals to watershed management practitioners in Maine.

August 15, 2006, EPA announced the Targeted Watersheds Grants Program 2006 & 2007 to encourage successful community-based approaches to protect and restore the nation's waters. Up to $16 million will be available nation-wide for projects. EPA anticipates that typical grant awards for the selected watersheds will range from $600,000 to $900,000. DEP is inviting pre-proposals for consideration. The due date for pre-proposals to be sent to DEP is September 18, 2006.
