LePage Administration Helps Celebrate Opening of New Molnlycke Health Care Facility

The LePage Administration today helped celebrate the opening of Molnlycke Health Care’s new manufacturing and converting facility at Brunswick Landing, the latest in a series of recent expansions and business openings across Maine.

This expansion represents Molnlycke’s largest single investment, a new $47 million facility in Brunswick, creating 40 new jobs by the end of 2013 and more in the coming year.

“Molnlycke could have made this investment anywhere in the world,” said Governor Paul R. LePage. “I commend them for bringing these high-quality manufacturing jobs not only to the U.S. but Maine in particular.”

Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Commissioner, George Gervais spoke during the official opening ceremony.

“The LePage Administration is constantly striving to improve Maine’s competitiveness and our overall business climate,” said Gervais. “This is exactly the kind of success Governor LePage and I want all companies to experience here in Maine.”

When fully operational, the company will produce its advanced line of wound care products for the domestic American market right in Brunswick, using foam produced at its Wiscasset plant.

Molnlycke Health Care is a world leading manufacturer of wound care and single-use surgical products and service provider to the healthcare industry.
