AUGUSTA - The Maine Department of Economic and Community Development has teamed up with Journal Communications to print and distribute the Maine Economic Development Guide, an annual publication highlighting positive economic news in the state.
"Maine has had some great successes in economic development recently, and a publication like this will help us build on this momentum and spread the word to job creators and decision makers that our state greatly appreciates them," said Governor Paul R. LePage. "We have made meaningful strides in making state government more business friendly and lowering the costs of doing business. But we must keep working to make Maine more competitive so that, together, we can achieve sustainable job growth and economic vitality."
The economic development guide will be a key marketing tool, reaching more than 10,000 decision makers in the state, nationally and internationally who determine when and where to locate a business. The end product will be available both in print and online:
- Traditional Magazine: The high-quality magazine offers magnificent original photography and engaging editorial content promoting Maine's assets and its business climate.
- Website: An impressive web presence will expand the target reach of the publication by providing browsers with access to a digital version of the magazine, as well as expanded content that includes videos, 360 degree panoramic photos, and lifestyle information.
- Tablet Optimization: Tablet users will enjoy enhanced mobile access to the magazine.
"We look forward to sharing some of the great economic and business news we've been fortunate to be a part of over the last year," said DECD Commissioner George Gervais. "But our work is not done, and decisions made today makes Maine a more competitive place to do business tomorrow."
The first edition of the Maine Economic Development Guide is scheduled to be published in the fall of 2013.
